Flossie is a 1989 60ft Traditional Narrowboat. Built in Bristol by S&B. At her beating heart is a twin Russell Newbery 18hp engine, a classic traditional engine that the right person will appreciate. We want her to go to an enthusiast. She has just gotten a new BSS certificate after work that we have completed. She was previously left unattended due to unfortunate ill health of the previous owners. We have installed a used AGA log burner as other was beyond repair, made gas supply good with new bubble tester and isolation valve, cleaned top to bottom and given the lovely solid wood interior a long needed feed from bow to stern. There is a 2000w inverter, 12v fridge, Indesit LPG cooker, 300w solar, A2B charger and hot water is heated by engine. We have spent over 80hrs work getting her ready for sale, our aim was never to complete, just make good and safe. As you can see, she is ready for a repaint which you could do to your taste, be that DIY or professional. She is booked in to be blacked and have hull survey in early May, but could be purchased now holding on to that slot in Gloucester. Post blacking price will increase. She needs a special owner that will take her forward to where she should be, look after her and that special Russell Newbery engine that runs so sweet. There are some hull pictures from blacking in 2018, she hasn't travelled anywhere since then. We think the asking price is fair so thats it really, that is the price, where can you buy a 60ft Trad for much less? When you have finished her, she will be worth much more so there is a good financial reason to complete also. Viewing available at GL2. Feel free to ask any questions, I dont know why its listed as trade because its a private sale.
