Capecutter 19 is a fine example of a classic old gaff cutter work boat and successfully combines old world charm with modern day advancements in construction, performance and comfort. Designed by a racing yacht designer Dudley Dix. Easily handled by a single person or ideally a couple. She is well euipped in cover department having a sprayhood, cockpit cover, cockpit tent and a over winter boat cover. She is well maintained, vanished every year before each sailing season.
She is trailed on a Stainless steel trailer with an all roller mechanisms for easy rolling on and off.
All as new condition and ready to sail.
Reason for selling? - Inherited a bigger yacht!

Accommodation

With 4 berths and a roomy cockpit for her size, she has a full size V berth forward and 2 full length quarter berths aft. The quarter berths double as saloon seats. The galley area comprises space for a single burner stove, with a sink area opposite. Pop up table is used inside or outside in the cockpit. It had a roomy cockpit tent made by Habitent (see their webb site) that use either at night or sheltered from the sun. give all round visibility, we found it a great boom, when it rain heavily all day. Four LED strip lights one on each of the berth. It has a water hand pumping tap connected to water container - never been use.

Construction

Cape Cutter 19 with low profile dark blue hull and Ivory coach roof.
She has lap strake chines which provide reserve buoyancy once she begins to heel & a collision bulkhead in the bow.
Large comportable cockpit.
Fast draining cockpit.
Draws only 45cm with the centerboard lifted. Bilge runners enable her to dry out safely.
Her shallow draft and full length keel make it easy to get her on and off her trailer.
The internal ballast has 300kg of lead which runs along the length of the keel

The Vanclaes Road trailer made in Holland, is equipped with: • Full Stainless Steel Chassis • 100% Waterproof LED Lightings • Waterproof Bearings and disk brakes • Scuff & scratch proof keel and rollers which makes launching and receiving a doodle especially when I on my own • self-braking Winch with Strap. Weight a lot less then the normal galvanised trailer. defenders. Cockpit cover use during the summer and a full boat cover which I used during the winter. Cockpit tent made by Habitent. Boat hook. Liquid alcohol Stove. Tiller clutch which I found useful when turning about , adjusting the two jibs.

Sails & Spars

The Cape Cutter 19 boasts a high peaked gaff cutter rig. She is a lively performer due to her wide stern section, slippery underwater shape and large but manageable sail area. The light weight genoa provides for performance sailing in light airs whilst the heavier working jib (hank on) offers an efficient sail set in stronger winds. The cutter rig provides versatility and can be sailed with mainsail and one or two foresails flying. The Cape Cutter 19 is easily sailed single handed – all the sail handling can be managed from the cockpit as all lines lead aft.

Safety Equipment

A 4kg Rocha anchor with 5 metres of chain and 30 metres or rope, hold the ground very well and it easily lift it over the bow. Anchor and gear store in a anchor bag in the bow well. a spare anchor stored in the stern when needed.
